Midgard: Years of the Long Night
This glossary will probably be constantly updated. Check back often. If/when it grows too large and unwieldy it will be re-organized into sections (probably Events, Places and Concepts, or something similar).
Items of great magical power and rich history. Many Artefacts are believed to have their own minds, and perhaps even contain the souls of their creators or wielders.
Aelf, Giants, and Humans. These were the races chosen by the Vanished Gods to receive the secret methods of maintaining the New Realms.
Artificially excavated extra-dimensional spaces. Alternatively known as ‘demi-planes.’ Demesnes are powerful spaces which often take on a life of their own and expand far beyond the intentions of their creators.

Also referred to as ‘the Wilding of the world,’ the spreading doom of civilization, Midgard, and perhaps even reality itself by an unknown force that warps the land and brings madness to both body and mind.
YEARS OF THE LONG NIGHT
The present age, during which the survivors of the Moonfall and their New Gods have attempted to band together to survive a devastated world. The seasons shift in length as Winter begins to take over, the stars have begun to vanish from the sky, and the nights grow longer, colder, and darker.
YGGDRASIL, THE FALLEN WORLD TREE
The great tree from which all planes originate. Legend has it that eons ago, during the battle of Ragnarok, the World Tree fell and has been slowly dying ever since.
